“Make God the utmost delight and pleasure of your life, and he will provide for you what you desire the most.” — Psalm 37:4 TPT
Reflection
God sent me flowers.
It has been a difficult season of caring for my Mother-in-law, June. I have leaned on God more than I ever have in my life, inviting Him into my daily life and decisions. He is kind to remind me of my need for Him when I forget, which is not always pleasant, yet it keeps me close to Him.
Exhausted, I went to sit on my back porch in a rare moment of being at home. Usually I would be surrounded by flowers. This spring with the coronavirus shutting everything down, it didn’t seem wise to spend money on flowers. I would not have had time to water them anyway.
I can’t remember why I didn’t plant flowers in the spring of 2019, probably because the journey of taking care of June began. So I haven’t had purslane flowers on my back porch in over two years. I missed their beauty and fragrance delighting my senses.
As I sat on my porch, I breathed in the warm summer air and started to relax, when my gaze rested on purslane flowers! I couldn’t believe what my eyes were beholding. A truckload of blessings. Only God could have planted them just for me. How kind of God to share His creation in an utterly exhausting season.
“Every gift God freely gives us is good and perfect, streaming down from the Father of lights, who shines from the heavens with no hidden shadow or darkness and is never subject to change.” — James 1:17 TPT
Prayer
Lord, I invite You into my day. Please guide me in every decision I make. Thank You for walking with me daily and giving me the smallest desires of my heart. Amen
Thought for the Day
Daily activity: Start each day inviting God into the details and daily decisions. Watch for the gifts He gives you.
