Do you ever find yourself frustrated with your spiritual growth (or lack thereof)? I know the feeling! I began walking with the Lord in 1996 and found great difficulty applying the Word to my life. No matter how hard I studied or what “version” I applied, I just couldn’t seem to have long-term, life-changing fruit. Thankfully, someone dared me “to take my spiritual walk to the next level.” She challenged me to have an inner healing session. Ha! In hindsight, I wonder about the fruit she saw in my life that prompted her to challenge me?
I had no idea what I was participating in. If I had, I probably would not have signed up. I would’ve surely thought that kind of stuff was a bunch of hoooooey (as we say in the South). But hey, I must admit, I do love a good challenge, and the person who dared me knew that. After having gone through that, I wouldn’t have missed it for anything in the world. My life shifted drastically at that moment.
I can honestly say that one session was, and still is absolutely the most pivotal moment in my spiritual growth. Just like the Word says, “Suddenly” my life changed. Granted, it was only the beginning of a great adventure but still marks my life in a way no other single instance has. That session is the single-most reason I have dedicated my life to inner healing and the process of coming alongside others as they seek the healing of their own hearts.
God met me dramatically, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. He actually shifted my family spiritually in that two-hour session because of several of the prayers I was led to pray. Not formulas, but Holy Spirit-inspired revelation that actually brought a chiropractic adjustment into my life and the lives of those in my family, many of whom have no idea of that moment or the process it relates to. I walked away saying, “If this will work for me (a stubborn, hard-headed, rebellious new believer, to say the least), it will work for anyone.”
Now, 25-plus years later, this inner healing process is even more profound than it was then. God is moving in ways I haven’t seen since his Glory days. To this day, healing the issues of the heart is still the most exhausting, frustrating, incredible and fruitful thing I have ever been a part of. But like I said, a few minutes in prayer, being led by the Holy Spirit can and will shift the trajectory of your life.
This ministry is fruit of that experience, and I am joined by a team who have experienced the same if not more revelation of healing than my story. We have many prodigals, addicts who walk free from addiction, several who God has turned their mourning into dancing, and others who have sought a group to be vulnerable and transparent with regarding the frustrations, trials, and tribulations of living out this life call.
Many have joined us for a one-time session, a retreat, or a class, but most often when folks taste of the freedom of Christ, they are hooked and intent on learning the process, discovering how the Lord will work through them to “set captives free.” This ministry is anything but boring, but is certainly not for the faint of heart. As I mentioned, it’s exhausting and frustrating, but the exhilaration and creativity God uses to set us free is incomparable to anything I have ever experienced before.
A lot of church folk think God is boring. He is not! Come hang with us a little while at Kerri Johnson Ministries. Join us for one session, a season, or a lifetime. If you’re a pastor, invite us in for a school or a sermon. We will bring a team, and you’ll be in awe at how God shifts you and your church. Individual or corporate, you won’t regret it, and you certainly won’t ever forget it. Otherwise, drop us a note, and we will join you in prayer for your circumstance. Thanks for reading.
God bless you and yours!!!
