Lord Jesus, life is hard sometimes. There are days, weeks, even months when nothing seems to go right. And that’s just at home, in my own life.
Then I look out in the world, and I see chaos and darkness creeping in. I see injustice, hatred, trauma, death, and pain. Everything seems upside down. My spirit longs for peace.
That’s when I remember that peace starts within my heart. I have to choose it. Your Peace. The true, lasting peace that only You can bring, Jesus.
I want to grow in Your peace and be filled with the presence of Your Holy Spirit. Show me the places where I have blocked You in my heart.
Help me to turn from my old ways, so I can invite more of Your peace to live in my heart. I desire to walk in Your peace no matter what is going on in my life or in the world.
Lord Jesus, Prince of Peace, help me to carry Your peace into whatever situations I encounter each day. I want to affect the atmosphere around me with the peace You are nurturing inside me.
I pray that when others experience the peace You bring, they will be drawn closer to You. And they will know that You are the Prince of Peace.
I pray this in Your name, Jesus. Amen
