A guest post by Janet Eriksson . . .
Lord Jesus,
You know I didn’t appreciate spring until I moved up north where the seasons changed.
I remember seeing those first delicate flowers on a tree branch that assured me the difficult winter would soon be over.
Then the new leaves emerged in that translucent shade of green that is only visible in the first days of spring.
I remember how my heart rejoiced in the golden glow of an early springtime dusk, when the daylight first began to stretch toward evening, with the promise of bright summer nights that would soon arrive.
Then seemingly overnight, the trees were filled with green. A beautiful spring forest surrounded me everywhere I went.
Lord Jesus, springtime reminds me so much of You. Your beauty, creativity, the new life You give us. Your incredible love for us, Your patience and kindness. The promise of eternal life that we have in You.
As I celebrate the springtime, my heart rejoices in You. I am thankful for Your love, and grateful that You are here to make all things new.
I pray in Your name, Jesus. Amen
