A guest post by Janet Eriksson . . .
As I enjoy the summer season, Lord, so many things remind me of You.
You are brighter than all the suns in the universe, and more glorious.
Warm breezes flow gently through the summer trees, reminding me of the warmth You always provide. You offer such a sense of belonging. The warmth of Your presence helps me know how much You enjoy being with me.
As I breathe in the relaxation summer brings, floating the river, swimming in the lake, sitting under a tree and watching nature dance with life all around me, I remember how You teach me the importance of rest.
When I enjoy a summer peach and sip lemonade, I am reminded You are my ultimate source of refreshment.
As the chirping of crickets and tree frogs fills the summer evening sky, my heart is thrilled to remember how You sing over me. As I watch the fireflies glow along the hedges in the summer twilight, I delight in the creativity and fun of their creator, You.
Your blessings in summer, Lord, and all year round are too many ever to count. I am overwhelmed by Your love.
In Jesus’ name. Amen
