An Allergy Sufferer’s Prayer

A guest post by Janet Eriksson . . .

Lord, thank You for Your blessings of good health. Even though I’ve struggled with allergies, and springtime is sometimes hard, I want to thank You and praise You for the good health You have given me. I am fearfully and wonderfully made, and I don’t want allergies to distract me from the incredible blessings you have given me.

I thank You that Your Holy Spirit lives in me. My body is His temple. Lord, cleanse me from pollen and any illness that would try to come against me. Restore clear breathing — the ruach breath of Your Holy Spirit in me. I declare that the power that raised Christ from the dead lives in me!

Help me, Lord, to stay in peace in all seasons and circumstances — the peace that only You can bring. As I walk outdoors surrounded by spring pollen, help me to affect the atmosphere by Your peace and Holy Spirit, rather than letting the pollen affect me.

God, I want to enjoy Your beautiful nature that I see reflected all around me in the springtime. I marvel at Your creative handiwork in the gorgeous flowers, stunning colors, tender new leaves — 300 shades of green in nature, Lord, and I want to admire every one of them. You are an incredible artist, the original artist of all!

Thank You, God, for bringing new life and restoration to my body, soul, and spirit. Help me to enjoy all the wonders of spring.

In Jesus’ name. Amen
